Graduation RequirementsCurriculum

To be admitted to the Master of Business Administration with an Executive Leadership Concentration program, please submit the following:

  • Proof of a Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited institution.

  • Official transcript (s) from all post-secondary institutions attended; GPA of 2.5 or better required.

  • Recent (within 5 years) results of the GMAT examination
    (GMAT results must be submitted prior to the completion of BA505).

  • Completed program application form.

  • Two supportive letters of recommendation (one of which should focus on academic potential).

  • Current resume reflecting three years of relevant work experience.

  • Evidence of TOEFL scores, minimally 550; required only of applicants for whom English is a second language. (TOEFL results must be submitted prior to the completion of BA505.)

  • In addition, a prospective student may need to participate in an interview with members of the Graduate Business Committee.

  • Individual consideration may be given to applicants who do not meet all of the admission criteria.

  • Wesley recommends a minimum age of 25.

STUDY TEAMS
At the foundation of Wesley College's educational philosophy and practice is the recognition of the distinction between the younger college student and the student who has assumed the adult responsibilities of self-determination, financial independence, and professional development. The focus is on two critical learning objectives. The first of these is shared participant responsibility of self-directed learning and small group learning dynamics. Professional and personal growth require that individuals develop the skills necessary to manage their own learning. Throughout the program, participants are expected to seek answers to their questions, identify and develop resources for their concerns, and take charge of their own learning. For this reason, the programs are designed to provide the structure and support necessary to encourage independence and self-direction.

The second objective is to develop the interpersonal skills necessary for effective participation in groups. Student groups are an integrated part of the Wesley College education. The groups are comprised of three to five students each that meet outside of class. Study groups function as mutual support mechanisms through which the students can learn more efficient problem solving from the professional expertise of peers. At Wesley College, students and faculty are acknowledged as major learning resources through which individuals learn by participation in the process of inquiry and involvement.

Study group meeting locations, meeting duration, and activities are dictated by the needs of the subject material or faculty member. Each group meets outside of the required class time to discuss and prepare assignments and share learning resources. These study groups are mirrored in the workplace with collaborative work teams.
