Techniques for problem solving in the business' environment. Topics included are financial mathematics (simple interest, compound interest, effective rate of interest, loan amortization, installment loans, annuities), descriptive statistical techniques (graphical display of data, measures of central tendency, measures of variation, correlation and regression, interpretation of data), probability (introduction to the normal distribution), and measurement (the English and metric systems of measure).

An examination of the judicial system including federal and state regulatory agencies pertaining to business. Topics include forms of ownership, contracts, liquidation and the Uniform Commercial Code. Warranties, secured transactions, product liability and bankruptcy are also studied.

HU270 Career Development Portfolio
Designed for mature students whose coming to Wesley marks a significant development in their career. In the building of an autobiographical portfolio, under the guidance of faculty, students will be required to demonstrate an understanding of the attitudes and objectives underlying their career progress. The completed portfolio may also be used to assist in placing students in appropriate course, granting them appropriate exemptions, or rewarding credit in consultation with relevant faculty and in conformity with College regulations.
